Loved the blog, write up and the pics.

Wondering why you won't send it to AP for work? I know you have this 3rd party warranty but for such a piece - I wouldn't let anyone but AP work on the 15300.

Fair question. Here is the basic answer: When I first got it I couldn't bear to lose it for a month to AP service, not to mention I didn't want to spend that kind of money on service when their watchmaker works on much crazier stuff. That said, after a few services with them, I started to bring up getting a full AP clearwater service which they said they would happily cover if I was unhappy with the next fix.

I'm in between jobs at the moment so I may have to sell this piece if I need some extra cash, but if not I may insist on a clearwater service now that I rarely wear it...

If you think there is a chance you may sell it, you may want to get it serviced by AP now. It will significantly help with resale. Hope things work out so you can keep it though.

Ever consider that the problems faced were caused by a 3rd party who probably just cleaned it up?. Leading to more problems down the road.
