Advice on where to buy a submariner and what price to expect

Hello

Can anyone make a reccomendation about a good place to buy a silver submariner in the US. I am based in the UK but my father is going to Florida next month and I am hoping that he can bring one home for me at a better price than I would get in the UK.

I am thinking that the best deal will be to buy online and have it delivered to my father's house.

Is duty free worth considering?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Do you mean a ss 16610??? Discounts???? Bhwwaaaaahahahaha!!!!

No discounts on these, 5% off if you are lucky. You will spend more time than it is worth looking for 10% or more off.

Good luck.

Welcome to TRF, Jay!

As stated, the SS Sub Date will hardly be discounted in the States. I would find a good AD in London. Suggestions could be "Watches of Switzerland", Wempe and Mappin & Webb.

With the weakness of the dollar the price will be much better here than if you were to buy it in Europe. I wouldn't worry about trying to get a discount. The currency conversion will more than cover that. It is easy enough to find an AD in the area he will be staying.

Buying a SS Sub

Discounts may be hard to come by on a brand new one, but.......
what about a pre-owned beauty from a fellow enthusiast in the US and have it shipped to the Florida address, and your father can wear it back on his wrist to the UK......wala.
