Those are not really comparably watches. Go with whatever sings to you.

Two different watches. I like them both. Right now I would go for the AP because I recently bought the SS BLNR.

I agree there, Steve. In fact they're so disparate, you should probably buy both.

Rolex is more reliable better movement. Ap better dial bracelet. I've had an ap I don't want another.

Rolex or AP

Having gotten my first AP recently and mostly been into Rolex for a long time, you need to understand that AP definitely needs a lighter touch than a Rolex. I've had several problems with the movement already. My rolexes are treated like beaters and never miss a tick.

A bit of both might be the YG GMTc. Otherwise ROC for me.

Which complication do you need?

Since I already have a WG ROC, I would go with the GMT.

I like my AP in a basic SS blue face form, so I would go ROlex on this choice.

Honestly if I had to choose AP ROC vs Rolex GMT I'd pick the AP (I own both, WG GMT and ROC SS)
How ever in ur case I'd go with BLRO
That's my opinion though, I don't really like the ROC RG dial options
Comfort wise, I personally find AP ROC lines way more comfy, even their gold ROC feels super comfy
But I just couldn't like the Dial+finish combo they offer, bothered me every time I took a look at it.. Felt too boring and dull for me.
The BLRO seems more exciting,
I tried on the BLRO and I didn't like something about it which was same as my SANR.. Had a bulky feel to it.. Where as the ROC had a slim feel (I like the slimmer feel)
But for looks and to enjoy what's on my wrist, I'd probably aim for the BLRO,

Both are amazing watches and the weight of them Feels great,
BLRO +1 looks +1 value hold, +1 fun (current new hype) +1 hides its age better (the AP ROC will show every scuff and scratch )
AP ROC RG +1 comfort, +1 versatile wear (dressy or casual)

My opinion, but its up to u
When I went to buy the AP ROC RG, trying it on a few times just didn't sing to me once I had it on, I bought the SS blue instead.. Not because I couldn't afford it.. But because like my other Gold watches I know I wouldn't really wear it.. Just looked dull on my wrist..

Usual rubbish

As usual people post myths about AP (could be Patek next time) reliability and robustness. It's bollocks. AP's are absolutely fine for everyday wear with no problems at all. Before believing the naysayers ask how many are speaking from extending experience of owning an AP.

Now listen to the silence...

Smarter move would be to ask AP owners on the AP forum about the real life ownership experience, and then decide.

I personally don't like any of the AP's (the octagon and scews, etc.); just not for me so I would say Rolex. I like almost every Rolex except the Root Beer GMT... although seeing it Clint Eastwood the other night in "In the Line of Fire" its warming up to me.

Of course what you like. For me the RO is too dated and has too many varieties, it's not a watch I would own.

I like the looks of the BLRO...but then I have no objectivity when it comes to the whole GMT line...I think it's incredible.

That said, I would go for the YG version. But that's me.

I'd go with a Rolex 116719 BLRO. It's currently THE undercover heritage piece for the watch aficionado (in my opinion). Looks and feels beautiful and i do find the complication quite useful.
As for the AP ROC RG, i personally wouldn't wear a RG or YG as i find it too loud and the current ROC too large and have no or little use for the chrono. Now having said this, if that kind of watch material and complication floats your boat, i'd suggest to look at the Daytona in YG, that's something i can get behind (for other people).

In this forum, votes favor Rolex for obvious reasons.
In the AP forum...well you get the point.

Try them on and and buy what looks good on you. Both are great looking watches!

Someone said in the forum that ap finishing are better than rolex tough i never really understand that. I played with royal oak many times at ad and it does feel amazing tough i never own it. I still love rolex more i guess. I am going to get my wife her first royal oak and maybe i would fall in love with royal oak as well eventually.

To op: seeing doctor Tom pepc shot i guess i going to vote Blro. Great shot doc
