Would like to hear more about this... what kind of clients, what sort of business--now that they know you're interested might you get a Platona as a bonus on this deal...

i'm in the information business and doubt that these clients would bestow on me such a great watch

although friends bought me my current daytona as a gift last year.

the feel, weight and awesomeness was well awesome

I believe the watch is a tribute to Paul Newman, hence the colors. In his youth he had brown hair and his eyes were blue. So blue dial and brown bezel and subdials.

Having tried one on last year, pictures do not accurately represent how stunning it is!

I tried the Ice Blue dial version a couple of days ago with a close friend who was considering getting it. Although I have always been a fan of the panda look the Ice Blue dial has a more pale dial color that gives the watch a little more understated look, despite the fact that the markers are diamonds. I'd love to see a black ceramic version in SS, but that will never happened given where Rolex has positioned this watch

The glacier dial does set it off. Rolex has chosen that dial color across other models made in platinum.

I tried both the Platty and the Platinum DD2 at an AD about a month ago, and they were just tremendous watches. Dominant wrist presence (and heft!).
