Incoming! Well, already here....
Hello fellow vintage enthusiasts,
I'm extremely excited. It's taken me quite some time to find one of these in a condition I am happy with at a price I was willing to pay in order to add one to the collection. The 1969 Rolex meters first 1680/8 on a Patent Pending bracelet now joins my meters first 1967 Rolex 1680 Mk I. The 1680 Mk I was the first Submariner to move away from being a pure tool diving watch to having additional mechanisms (i.e. the date function). The 1680/8 meters first was the first Submariner to move away from being a utility watch to becoming a luxury product. To me it is a very important part of the Submariner history leading to what the watch is today. Hope you enjoy the pics! Patent Pending: And, a pic of the 1967 Rolex Mk I:

That must be one of best 1680 gold subs out there. Absolutely smashingly great example!
Congrats! |

Congrats - I really like the matted dial in the first few pics - looks like it is softening/aging beautifully

It was hard to source one of these in any condition, but I got lucky and saw someone who had one on IG in the condition I wanted, and he was willing to meet me at the highest price I was willing to do. He wasn't even on my follow list but rather popped up in the explore tab and I was lucky enough to see it there! He's on my follow list now though!

For some reason I always thought the gold subs would have gold font on the insert. I prefer the silver. Looks great.
