1601 Dial Authentication

Hello all,

I have seen a lot of 1601 Dials but have not come across this one before. Has anyone seen it before or know anything about it (i.e. nickname)? I am confident the dial is authentic and not a refinish...

At the end of the stick baton it slightly slopes down to reveal black "triangle" points which point inward. It appears that the black actually comes from within the stick marker as if they have been slightly polished at an angle to reveal the black interior color.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
