Considering I have a 5508 Sub, i'd probably choose the Explorer II to add more variation. Both are very nice!

Keep the straight hand if it is in great shape they are much more difficult to find...

This is my thought - if they are comparable quality, the Exp is much more rare.

Thanks all , appreciate your thoughts...yes, currently may need to let one go to finance a Grail...Straight hand is more complete in some sense because it does come with the original bracelet with full links...while 1680 is with a modern 93150...although it may not be that important...

Something to think about, it doesn't seem as if either really "speak" to you. It depends if you are a collector or a wearer, but if the latter, maybe you sell both.
