Rolex Milgauss - how to avoid scratches on the bezel?...

Hello,

Im new to this forum, and will hopefully soon buy a Rolex Milgauss (no, not the GV-version since its almost impossible to get here in Sweden...).

But before I buy the Milly I have a few questions:

1) How easy is it to scratch the bezel?

If the link get some scratches it doesnt matter so much to me - but the bezel feels "more in focus" if you know what I mean...

2) If theres any serious scratches - could a AD or such change the bezel? Like you can on the Sub or SD etc.

3) Any other comment on the Milgauss is highly appriciated!

Thanks for your answers - it will help me a lot.

I have a white milgauss and i love it. Because the case is polished it is more likely to pick up some surface scratches but no different from any other polished watch in my opinion. As far as replacing the bezel ( dont know if thats the correct term) i think it would be easier to polish than replace.

All in all a great watch- you will love it.

Best way to avoid scratches on any watch is to just simply not wear it!

Just try not to do anything in the vicinity of the bezel area. Other than that you can't really do anything about it since the bezel is polished SS. I wouldn't recommend trying to polish it with a cloth because the gathered dust will cause hairline scratches in the area. The best advice I can give is if you want to clean the bezel, wash the entire watch with mild soap, then dry it with a microfiber cloth.

PS - I don't really wash my Milgauss, I wear it even when it's dirty, then when the dirt gets out of control I clean it with mild soap. I also don't wear it to bed because, again if you move around in your sleep, your bezel can rub against the bed sheets or pillow, causing hairline scratches.

Gary is right, it is designed to be worn and enjoyed. No point keeping it good and getting no enjoyment from it.
Welcome to the best forum on the net.

Thanks for everybodys replies, this is really a great (and quick!) forum

Im not concerned about small scratches, its the large ones Im worried about.

Can you change the bezel - and what do that cost?..

Im thinking about the Milgauss as 'a partner for life' - thats why Im asking..

/ Kind regards from Sweden

Welcome to TRF!

One of the employees of my AD has a Milgauss GV. He managed to scratch the bezel, but was quite cool about it. Why? He knows he can just go upstairs where the Rolex watchmakers sit and have it removed if he wants to. The scratch would have to be really deap for a Rolex watchmaker - having the right machines, mind yo - not being able to remove it. The bezel is removable, though, so you can have a new one fitted. But I doubt you would ever have the need for it.

I hope you get the Milgauss soon!

Just try your best to avoid rubbing the case against any rough surface, including some synthetic fabrics and funky stitching along the cuffs.
