Rolex Purchase Help on the Road Please . . .
I am on vacation with the family at the moment and am seriously looking at picking up one of the two watches I have found in stock (pictures NOT the actual watches but the exact style and dials).
1. Is the Daytona TT with the blue Arabic dial; and 2. the Sub TT. The Daytona is about two grand more. So, normally I would want the Sub, I like the Sub's robustness and the date, it likes suits or shorts, just a great all-arounder (and I have gotten a bit unnerved by the Daytona's attraction to women wearing it). But, with this Daytona I've always been captured by that blue arabic dial against the gold/SS and find it unique in the most positive way. Yes? I am also from Daytona Beach, and have always sort of wanted the home-town watch. I am mildly worried the Daytona could wear small. On the other hand, I also feel this Daytona pulls off TT a little more naturally than the venerable Sub in TT. No outcome is bad here, but which is best? What say ye? Thanks!!! |

Sounds like the Daytona to me... Think of the women you will attract

Like you said you're a winner either way. My opinion would be the Daytona because I only like the classic black sub. Good luck and post pics when you pull the trigger!

That Daytona in particular is gorgeous and I would take that over the TT sub any day.

I'd go with the Daytona, saw one the other day and that is the model I plan to buy. If you don't like it after a while trade it for the Sub.

You feel uncomfortable buying a watch because females wear it? Imagine if all the DSSD owners felt the same way

If you're on vacation overseas and can purchase tax-free, then buy both
Back in the real world, that's a really tough call but if it were me, the Daytona would edge it. |

This is a debate which has been going through my mind as I have been considering both pieces for my next acquisition. For me it would be the Daytona. The 16613ln fails with hollow centre links, it just doesn't do it for me personally. If it was the 116613ln or lb with the upgrated glide lock clasp and solid links then that's a different comparison. At the end of the day go with the one that sings to you the most when you try them on.

Sub for me. It's more versatile and more iconic than Daytona. And it's cheaper, and better looking, and wears bigger.

Get the Daytona - fewer of those around with that dial combo. You've wanted it now get it. You can snag a TT Sub anytime. And it gives you time to consider the TT Bluesy anyway

For me no question it is the TT sub 16613 over the Daytona. Don't get me wrong, the Daytona is a great piece, but I prefer the less cluttered look of the Sub dial. The black against the gold on the Sub to me is a timeless and classy look that can also easily accommodate very casual dress.
I have a 14060M Sub, and that two tone 16613 would conplement my collection perfectly. |

Daytona for sure.
For the sub, either ss or wg. tt black doesn't cut it for me. |

I thought you were going for a YG GMT?
Make sure you're buying what you really want.

I don't think Arabic numerals work on a Daytona face, so I will vote for the Sub.
