Rolex and special occasions

I was looking through my photo album and came across this picture of my son's first bath just 1 day old. He was 5 weeks premature and born in Holland unexpectedly whilst were were there on holiday in April. Was a difficult but amazing time and the BLNR kept me company for the week whilst the rest of my collection remained locked in the car...

From under 5lb He's thank god grown to be a strapping young lad.

I will never forget the association between this watch and my sons birth. What Rolex have played a part in memorable events in your lives?

Awesome thread. I remember using my Daytona to time my Wife's contractions as my cell phone stopped working on the day leading up the birth of my Son. Ended up wearing the Daytona for that day and the days we spent at the hospital after his birth.

Nothing that compares to that! That's awesome! I have a 22 year old daughter and I remember seeing her for the first time like it was yesterday!

Lovely photos. I was just yesterday looking at a photo of my daughter being born. She came by cesarean and I was there when my wife was opened up and she slid out and I cut the chord. Sadly I wasn't allowed to wear my watch in the operating theater, but had a nice photo of that moment.

My son, born 18 months before my daughter was also 6 weeks early after my wife fell while at our farm. But babies are strong and fight to survive, and he is now a bruising 3 year old. I would post pics, but don't want to steal attention from your lovely little boy.

Great pic! You should print a copy and store it away with the box to the BLNR so if you hand it down to him some day the pic would be a great addition.

Awesome photos of your son!

I too have some good shots of mine being worn at the hospital for my daughters birth (TT DJ) and with some professional photos done later with her (SS DJ). Seems like all the outdoor/vacation pics have the 14060 in them. It's cool how the enthusiasts here appreciate the memory that a particular piece brings back.

My youngest daughter gave me a bound photo book of her wedding for Christmas. This was one of the full page pics just as I was giving her a kiss prior to giving her hand to her soon to be husband. Looks like the Submariner peeked out for an appearance! That watch will be hers someday and hopefully a grandson or granddaughter will be wearing it decades from now!

I wore my Sub on these two particular days:

Getting married in 2004 & The birth of our daughter in 2013

My watch is barely visible but its there on my wedding day (I didn't have time this morning to find a good shot..)

I somehow remembered to grab my watch when my daughter was born. She came 4 weeks early in the middle of the night. In all the craziness of getting out the door I remembered to grab and wind my watch (I didn't wear it a few days.. I had been doing a lot of painting in my daughters room).

Great photos. I can testify that a 5lb premature baby can grow up into an adult. I have one! Enjoy him as they grow up fast!

I wore my GMT at my daughters birth, even too a wrist shot so it showed her birthday. Would've been cool to take a wrist shot right when she came out so I had the time of birth but I was too busy trying to support my wife, plus the medical staff would probably wonder what the heck I was doing at a time like this....

I was wearing my B&M when my daughter was born, but I switched to my sub when we got home so I could use the rotating bezel for timing.
Here’s a pic of us at 2 weeks old.
