Where it all started... For those interested

I work just up the road from Hatton Garden and was passing by today.

Not that exciting I know, but I thought I'd take a snap of how 83 Hatton Garden looks these days to share with you (mainly for those who don't often or have never visited London). Apparently this is where it all started, where Wilsdorf and Davis' was initially set up.

Shame it's such a boring facade to look at these days.

Best,

Peter

Ps. Would be interested if anyone has any pictures of how it used to look in the early 1900s

That is sad, you would think Rolex would've bought it and put on a museum or a AD.

I'll have to visit there on my next trip over the pond.

Thanks for posting this, I had wondered what that building looked like now. You mean the one on the left?

No it's the one on the right, which from outside looks like it's a building of multiple offices.

It's really nothing that special to look at, and I probably wouldn't recommend visiting to be fair, unless you're just generally interested in the area, there's nothing glamorous about it at all. It's mainly diamond dealers and the odd vintage jewellery shop where you might pick up a vintage watch.

wow, very cool, thank you for taking the time to photograph and share this! it would indeed be great if Rolex could do something to mark its birthplace.
