Guys... need guidance regarding how to find out wtr my rolex is running fast/slow??? Comparing with a digital speed watch....a good idea???

I use my cell phone certainly as accurate as I will ever need. I don't try to see if my watch is gaining or losing a second a week or not

The thing that I find about most time websites is that they just synch to your PC's clock, which is fine but if you want a very accurate synch for your PC to the atomic clock try this:

They have a free app that synch's you right up!!

Any mid quality quarts watch or low quality quarts clock would be consider accurate enough to use as a standard for your purposes. A digital clock on you stove or car is not so good. You many want to use two quarts watch to make sure there is nothing wrong. A phone is good but it does not have a second hand.

You would need to run your Rolex against the standard for at least 24 hours. You probably need to run it against the quarts clock for a week. Because the Rolex can run a few second slow or fast per day and still be in specification.

If someone could list the correct specification for Rolex that would be great.

I check my wearing watch around one a week or so with my quartz wall clock thats accurate enough,then if its over a minute fast or slow will adjust it. Life is to short to worry over a second or so out of 86400 seconds in a day, so please don't get to OCD over a second or so.And speaking for myself my main priority is that everyday I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive days I've stayed alive.

the reality is that you watch will stop from the lack of wearing and you have to reset the time. And you will never need to know if it is accurate or not. At least that is for me. And you have to reset the date every few month too if you are wearing it every day.

It's also very easy to do without any apps.

Just look at the minute hand, if it's ahead of time it's fast and if it's behind then your watch is slow.

No no no, not what I meant, it's that for window7 and 8 they synch to the windows.time NPI server which is ostensibly like time.gov.

Not that the a PC corrects time.gov!!

i used to use the wwp.greenwichmeantime.com but now i use the watchville app. They use multiple atomic clocks they say. But the main thing is it makes a beep sound every last 5 second of the minute so you can keep looking at your watch to see it more accurate how accurate your watch is. Cos of you have to switch your eyes between your screen to your watch that will take a second or so. And they have nice watch news and articles

I probably will never know until it's really bad already since I frequently rotate them so each usually runs out of juice before I put it on again. I used to compare it always to my phone down to the second, now I don't even check, not all clocks in all establishments are exactly in sync anyway.

Hi Fawaz,

There is an Android app " Clock Sync" which you may wish to try.

I've used this free app and it is easy and simple to compare the atomic clock against your watch.

Just don't get too engrossed...... you'll know what I mean.
