Welcome to TRF!
Actually, I believe I read here recently that the UAE are not really a cheap place to buy Rolex? ** Anyway, best of luck, but I believe you'd have a hard time finding the "new" Sea-Dweller now (if you by "new" mean the "DSSD" introduced this year at Basel). Also, Milgauss GV and SS Daytonas would be very tough to find, at least at retail price. Please remember to post some pics of from your trip and of the Rolex watch(es) you get. AD pics would be nice, if possible! ** Edit: Found the thread: "Buying in Dubai." (see post # 4).

Denmark is a great place to buy a Rolex for Non EU residents. I remember in Povl Klarlund in SAS Hotel near Amager there was a salesman he offered 10% cash discount.
You should also be able to collect -25% tax back from the airport :-D |

was in Dubai this May and was also looking at buying a watch or two.... didnt click with Rolex back then - was looking at Carl F Bucherer and Omega.
The prices are pretty much the same after your "usual" discount and tax free. UAE is a tax free country, so you wont be getting your tax refund at the airport when leaving UAE. you'd probably want to look at your exchange rate, it may work out to be in your favour. i think there are a couple of UAE members, they may be able to give you some ideas. the AD i visits were in their big shopping malls (where else can you go in UAE?) |
