Just another 2 for 1 thread...

After seeing all of these beautiful YG Rolexes, I'm considering getting my first. I'm leaning toward the 116718 YG GMTIIc black or green dial. Due to price and the fact that I like to keep a rotation around 6 to 7 watches, I would have to let go of two watches toward the trade to keep additional funds reasonable. Based on the following, I'm considering parting ways with the Daytona and LVc. The DJ is the wife's, and the other three (D-Blue, Polar, and 312) get more wrist time and simply sing to me more than the Daytona and LVc. The Daytona is iconic and beautiful, but wears a little small for my liking and I'm one of those that use the date function quite a bit. I think I would be ok letting the LVc go since I now have the D-Blue. If I do this, I would have sea (D-Blue), land (Polar), and air (YG GMTIIc) covered with great diversity (styles and sizes). With all of that said, I would love to hear your opinions and comments about the 2 for 1? Would you do it? If so, black or green dial GMT? Is one expected to be discontinued earlier or harder to get? It would be a very tough decision either way. Thanks as usual!

Sounds like you have it all figured out with which 2 for 1.

I would recommend the green dial, the color is different from the LVc.

Yeah, do it! I prefer the black dial 718, but my preference means nothing. Maybe get the green since you're letting another green one go.

Green dial is the way to go. Funny you mentioned the DAYTONA wearing small. I was considering trading my Sub LV or Polar Explorer II towards a white dial DAYTONA.

The 718 is one of my favorite references of all time...can't go wrong with either the green or black.

Well since you're replacing the Hulk, maybe you should go with the green-dialled 718. Then again, the black is more versatile and has a green date wheel. Both winners.

I prefer black dial but green doesn't look hideous at all
As for trade,I would take apart the green gmt master II and the DATEJUST for sake of two for one

I would keep the LVc and its stunning sunburst and then add the black YG. Otherwise green dial makes sense. Either way you get the great bezel, case and bracelet.

Sounds like you've made your decision - and its a great one!

I personally would let the Polar go before the LVC but that is just me.

To be honest, once you get that gold beauty on your wrist you probably wont wear any of the others anyway.

My choice on Dial would be Black dial on the GMT.

I would go with the black dial. I just happen today think it's more classy. Plus if the LV didn't sing to you, don't risk running into same sotutation with a YG piece.

You will be wearing your current collection less if you follow the wearing habits of most here that buy their first PM model. It is the right thing to do in my opinion.

Good thinking. I'll ask her again since she doesn't require a date function. I remember the last time I asked her, she said she wouldn't feel as comfortable wearing the daytona since it would show scratches more than her DJ with super jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel. Thanks.

Ha! Great point! Unfortunately, I need to trade another to keep price difference more reasonable.

Thanks again for everyone's expertise and opinions. I have learned a tremendous amount from you TRF members. I'm still up in the air over green vs. black dial. It will be a tough decision where I'll need to see both in person, preferably side by side.
