14060/M prices from UK sellers advice please

Firstly, apologies I'm talking UK currency but it's relevant to me at this time, because the duty on US deliveries will blow out any savings, but have some questions for you good people..

I've never seen a watch sold at so many different prices, from a W 1996 at £3500 to a V £2009 at £3000.
And a few more, a 2006 at £4250 because it's an M, and a 2008 at £4500, because it's a 4 liner.

Am guessing that not all 'M's are 4 liners, which is what I thought initially, but only the 4 liners are the chronometers? Is that kind of right, and are those prices I quoted the norm or is £4500 too much for that one?

I know we aren't supposed to talk prices, but I'm not mentioning any dealers, and none are on these forums, these are all from elsewhere and all UK priced dealers. Would love some input from the knowledgeable on here please as to what they think is correct.

Much as I love the 'C' which is still RRP £5000, I don't know if I can get past that squareness, It's supposed to be a more comfortable alternative to my PO but it's like a box on your wrist, as pretty as it is. And despite it's 40mm against the 42mm of my PO, because of it's design it doesn't feel smaller at all. Price is not a great saving on older one either, compared to the C, in many cases of these ones I've seen

Yes the prices do vary. I bought my 2003 14060m with box and papers through a dealer last year for £3250 after a bit of haggling. There are plenty of good 14060's out there. Just got to look around. I think you should find a good one around £3500.

Was yours a chrono, are they asking more for them, the 2006 I quite like, it's not a chrono but I think £4250 is probably steep, but I don't know, maybe that's the going rate for that year...

Am I right in assuming that the new SeaDweller and DeepSea do not have the same enlarged lugs as the SubC, larger but not THAT large?

I've been wondering the same thing on the new model (SD and Sub) lugs in comparison. I just now found this image in another forum. Thread URL below. The second image in the thread shows the two models lined up lug-to-lug.

Thanks. It's impossible to see on the Rolex site. They both look slightly smaller than Sub but they're those horrible artist impressions type shots. And your pic proves it is smaller. Why didn't they leave the Sub at those proportions

I hate bumping posts, but figure this is dead and buried, Is the lack of help and response to questions because it's a UK currency and the majority of posters are US based or is it not something people can answer?

You need to visit an Rolex stockist (plenty in London) and see for yourself. Try them all on and see which one you prefer. You're better off buying from the EU as the exchange rates are very favourable for Sterling at this time. All M serials are 4 liners. All Chronometer graded. You may like the 114060 when you try one on. Very robust and clean looking.

I paid £3,450 for a 1992 14060 two-liner with box papers etc. from a dealer in the UK. Probably could have haggled a bit more. It's my favourite watch, along with my 16570 Polar. In my view, the 14060 is a much sweeter watch than the SubC, which I also have.

I have since spent £700 on a full RSC service and new crystal and bezel. Now it looks fantastic. We pay more for our watches in the UK. I would just find one you like from a source you trust, pay a fair price, and enjoy it. The price will soon be long forgotten.

I don't think chrono vs non-chrono is a big deal. I have Rolexes from the same era that are both and there is nothing in the timekeeping, and of course once the watch has been serviced it is no longer COSC.

Thanks guys, yes I need to get out more... I've seen one that I really like, but it's GB£4300, and 9 years old. And I just think it's over priced, plus don't want the buyer's remorse of for another few hundred I can get the 'C',

Am still torn, but don't want to get into that with you guys, I know you're sick to death of that argument, old v new.

Have also seen a cheaper one, but wouldn't trust myself with this particular dealer, who is a travelling dealer, because I'm not 100% clued up, and there are some blinding fakes out there. The Omega fakes I can spot a mile off, but Rolex is a different kettle of fish unless you are very up on them.

Am I shooting myself in the foot walking away from a non chrono, 2006 mint condition at £4300GB. 1 year warranty. I figure that should get me a newer 4 line chrono, not that I'm swayed towards either one, I like them both

If I was you, and with the strong £ to € in this moment, I would look at Europe for your 14060.
I recently sold my 2012 Random in Mint condition for 4200€, which comes down to less than 3000£.
A dealer in Antwerp had one for 2860£ from 2011 G-Serial with b+p

Take the train, make it a day and get a great watch at a great price.
Expand your horizons and find the right one for the right price

I think that's overpriced, this morning I sold a 2009, 14060M for £3500, the watch was mint, came with everything and hadn't been used for the last 4.5 years. Check the Ebay completed listings for "Rolex 14060M", that will give you a good idea of the market trend price wise.

Again this is around £3K which is a good price, over £4K is way too much.

Good advice above. Get the early, cheap, Eurostar to Brussels and find the nearest Rolex dealer. You'll get a great deal with the current exchange rate.

Have you considered the 114060 ceramic model. Lovely solid piece with clean lines and prices in Europe are excellent at the moment. You can pick up a new one for not much more than £3.5k at the moment. Have a search on Chrono24.
