Is Rolex yacht aster 2 stainless worth it?

Make sure you try it on first. It is way too top heavy IMO. Also, the complication is such that it has a limited audience as to appeal (thus, very poor resale).

I think is over rated- complication is a useless one and essentially a simple stop watch with limited use- IMHO over priced - should be less than Daytona.

Cool looking, but pass. Will never use the complication and it is more to break. Same reason I will not buy a Daytona. That and the no date.

Of course it is! There is nothing like it in the whole Rolex line up: looks, size, or function. Why wouldn't you want that?

But I'm a little confused, where did you get the 16k figure? Retail is over 18k, but you can find them easily in the 14's. Admittedly, resale is not great, so I would def try to buy smart on this one.

I think it's one of the coolest in the Rolex lineup. There's nothing else like it. Unfortunately it's too big and too expensive for me.

I think it is the most amazing watch, what it does, how it does it and the movement.

Problem is that it is complicated and get one bit wrong and it requires a trip back to the repair shop.

It's 18400$ MSRP but one of the more heavily discounted SS Rolexes.
Second hand is high 14k...
It's a 300 plus piece movement which is impressive ....
It's very aggressively priced... Think of all gold daytona on a strap second hand for exact same money ...

I bought mine a few weeks ago and I don't regret it one bit. It is alot of money for a SS, but so are alot of AP etc. I think the countdown timer is very useful, rather than having to time something, you go in reverse for many timed activities. But I didn't buy it for its complication, I bought it for its stunning looks. All the colors have this impeccable way of blending together. It has amazing wrist presence and I can't stop staring at it. Buy smart and you won't regret it.

Biggest let down on this watch is it's too difficult to tell the time.

Just make sure you don't need to be somewhere important when you wear this thing. You could confuse 1pm and 2pm, 4pm and 5pm, you get the idea.........

Other than that, it's a nice looking piece. Out of my league though.

I love this watch. It has the only white dial I could ever love. Too big for my wrist though. Even though the price points are different, I prefer this to the Daytona. If they were the same size and sitting next to each other, the Daytona loses out for me. YES, YES, I know.. Apples and Oranges.

I think the pricing on it makes it a tough call. I love the watch, the size, the blue but if you call it 15k plus or minus, it kind of puts you in no man's land. A little more and you can go all gold second hand if you desire or you can get two SS for the price of the YM II. I ended up with a two subs after giving this a hard look. A two tone blue and a black sub. I wouldn't trade but I still eye that watch.

This watch has been my favorite since I bought it.It's not an ordinary SS watch,it's movement also different. It's 179 grams with full links yet very comfortable to wear.
I was also saying that how come would I spend a few more grands more for a mechanism that I will never need to use but truth is different.
It's same logic why you wear Submariner even when you don't deep dive
