another 1675 for your perusal...

this is a 1968 model, how does it look to you 1675 lovers? I doesn't have open 6/9 date wheel, but not sure if that's issue. Any observations, good or bad, much appreciated.

Thumbs up from me. Nice patina and great fat font insert. Case is good, too. More pics would help, but I think it's very nice.

Very nice, my 66 does not have open 6 and 9 and from what I understand that is original so no worries!

The open 6 and 9 date wheel on these models is an "urban myth" perpetuated by those that got it wrong and those that keep repeating it in threads like this one. From the one photo, the date wheel appears correct for the watch. Additionally, if it wasn't correct, I fail to see why it would be an issue for anyone.

The GMT hand looks to be a replacement. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong - for this time period, it should be a small GMT hand.

My IV-68 #2.32m 1675 has closed 6/9s, hooked 7s, and the date wheel has never been changed--that is unless I was not told and not charged for it during service.

This is what I call perfect patina. Dirty hands like that makes my heart go boom and had the gmt matched, I'd piss myself. The insert is bloody fat and perfect. Love it! What kind of money are we talking about here? is it well into the teens?

Closed 6s and 9s are perfectly fine for this era (despite what many say to the contrary).

+1

+1. mine too. late 60s shd have closed 6/9 and hooked 7 IMHO. But theres a famous collector with a hugh cache of date disc in VRF who insisted that late 60s have open 6/9.

My 1.2 serial 1675 has open 6 and 9 so they probably have both. It's really odd sometimes what some folks obsess on given anything manufactured is bound to have variation
