Dilemma ROO to ROC

So i own a ROO rubberclad in SS, its the last model with the updated dial and its pretty immaculate.

Problem is i haven't worn it for ages, i seem to have just out grown it and feel that it only goes with sporty attire. Although its definitely a looker, its a shame that it gets absolutely zero wrist time.

I have the itch to trade it for a Royal Oak chrono on bracelet. I think that it goes with wearing anything in all situations.

I like the 39mm as the 41mm sub dial positions (the new larger gap either side) haven't grown on me yet.

What are your thoughts? should i trade? has anyone done the same? should i just keep it, save and buy the ROC?

Yes, I liked the ROOs a couple of years ago but bought a 41mm ROC as it was slimmer and easier to wear. I like the 41mm as the dial and subdials are the same colour so the dial all flows better to my eye.

The rubberclad is a tricky one, some think it is quintessential and unique while others think it's dated and not durable so whichever you think will determine if you keep or trade it.

I think a big factor of me hardly ever wearing it is durability, always worrying about dinging the bezel.

I would definitely wear a ROC very often, i have a Daytona that i love the look of but never wear but thats because it doesn't have a date function that the Audemars does...

Just don't know whether i should get rid of the poor old rubberclad, if i'll regret it after...

Keep the rubberclad and save up for an ROC. Better yet, trade the Daytona since it doesn't get wrist time too and top up for your ROC

Yup, if you never wear the Daytona.

I would sell the RC if you never wear it.

I traded my Daytona for a ROC 25860 because I wanted a date and haven't looked back. The other watch similar to these two is the Overseas Chronograph (40mm runs in the 9k range used, 42mm runs 14k). I would love to see all of the verbiage on the Daytona replaced with a two-window date function but I know that's not happening.

If you can swing it, I'd hold on to the RC and you can always sell it later. If you sell/trade it, you could always buy another one down the road. If they ever put ceramic bezels on the 42mm ROOs I'd think the demand for the RCs would drop quite a bit.

The 41mm version reminds me of replica quartz chrono watches, where the sub-dials look too compact for the size of the case.

If you don't wear the Daytona as well, I would sell that for the ROC instead, and so you have the ROC for daily wear, and the Rubber Clad as a sports watch still. I think a ROC + RC is a more versatile combination than ROC + Daytona.

I know what you're saying about the spacing of the subdials on the 41mm, that's why I got the 39mm 25860.

Keep the RC and trade the Daytona, or just save up for a ROC. A side note though, don't ding the ROC bezel, the SS is very unforgiving.

My 41mm SS ROC is such a scratch magnet. I usually have clue when new scratch marks pop up. But kind of you'd get used to it quickly.

They are but you're right you get used to it. But it's not really unique to the ROC. I had a lot of scratching on my Speedmaster, Daytona, and Overseas. Any bracelet will get scratched. I prefer brushed steel because I can touch it up myself very easily. My Daytona polished clasp drove me nuts

Would you recommend any touch up tool that could create results matching AP's SS brushed pattern?

För me personally, I do not like the 15400 that much and would take the 15300 over that every day of the week, on the other hand I like the 41mm ROC better the 39mm ROC, no logic but what the hell...

The 41mm ROC is to me an Offshore light, and sit great on the wrist...

A blue dial 41mm ROC would be my choice...

I think i like the Daytona to much to sell that. I think everyone needs one in their watchbox.

If you think the ROC bezel is unforgiving, imagine the Rubberclad lol. (thats a reason i never wear it).

I have a 116618LN as a daily, but don't usually like to wear that travelling, Hence the want for a ROC.

Sho-nuff i think you're right, it may be that it does look slightly like a quartz lay out. I really like the 39mm with the brown dial.

I advertised my Rubberclad locally last night, i'll start saving too, If a buyer offers me what i want i'll sell, if not ill wait until I've saved enough...

Thanks for the input everyone, really appreciated!
