Omega Boutique NYC Service and Experience
Hey all,
I had a weird issue with my speedster recently that land me in the service department of the NYC Omega Boutique. The issue was apparently caused by over lubrication from a recent service which in turn led to some oil to seem slightly onto the dial. Also, while I was there i told them the watch was running about 10 seconds fast per day, which normally won't bring me all the way in to NYC but since i was there maybe they could have a look. So, after about 15-20 minutes, we discovered my watch was actually magnetized which is why it was running so fast (actually +11 seconds per day) and the excess oil was easily absorbed with some special puddy the watch maker uses for exactly this problem. Now the dial is clean, the watch is running +3 seconds per day, the case is pressure tested and I am a happy Omega owner, all free of charge. They even send me home with a nice Omega red zippered travel pouch! (see pics) Obviously I am very pleased with the outcome of the visit, but I also have to add that the service, hospitality and atmosphere there was amazing and IMO of the highest class. I have had many many experiences at Rolex RSC NY, as well as a few experiences at IWC and Tourneau. Although the others have been satisfactory I felt the hospitality and environment at the Omega boutique was far superior. The gentleman who tend to me was named Peter and he could not have been more helpful. I sat back, had an espresso, used the wifi and before I knew I was on my way. Just thought I'd share. Thanks. Agreed, love the nyc boutique. It has been so cold, we have not had the desire to see the redesign. Hope it gets warmer soon as I know to drop off my PO LM Le for service.
