Falling back in love with the Day Date

My two Exp II's have been getting the lion's share of wrist time since late last summer but this week has seen my Day Date get more time. Reading various posts here have helped contribute to this. I am actually living my own advice when i said to a fellow TRFer that there was nothing like wearing a Day Date.

My experience in the last few days has proven that to be true. There are very few gold/PM watches as robust as the Day Date, other than other Rolexes. In the last few days I have worn it in the ocean jumping waves with my kids, hunted quail in the west Florida brush, shot assault rifles and pistols as well shot trap. After all of that I wore it to great dinners both casual and dress. The DD did not miss a beat and was perfectly at home in all these different elements as if it was a true tool watch. As it went through all of this it wore comfortably and looked great. There is simply nothing like a President bracelet...it is as functional as it is timeless. It just looks great and conveys a feeling to the wearer that very few other watches can match.

Honestly the only other watch that has this hypnotic affect that I have worn is my PP 5970J and i would NEVER have worn it for ANY of the activities I have been lucky enough to enjoy these past few days other than dinner ;-).

Thanks for that. I've just spent the last few days trying to convince myself that I don't want or need a gold DD 40. Back to square one now.
