Your opinion on Mido watches

Hi Guys & Gals,

I've been looking for a while now at buying another watch. Something a little different and was handed a catalogue for Mido watches.
I hadn't heard of this brand for many years and had totally forgotten about them.

I recall the Mido Multifort being a very sturdy and reliable watch.

Does anyone have any recent experiance with this brand?

TIA

Alan

Hi Alan,

If it's a low-budget, around the 500 bucks mark watch you're looking for, you can't go wrong with a MIDO.

My dad presented me with a MIDO OCEAN STAR way back in 1965 when I just passed out of High School. Used it for 15 long years. It's a superb watch, runs a 25-jewel ETA movement and is even Chronometer certified.

I would get one in a heartbeat.

JJ

Mido is seeing a bit of a renaissance in the market. They have some elegant designs released over the last 2 years and most of them are COSC.

Mido is a fantastic watch. My dad's from 1961 still works like a champ!

Here's mine, I bought it in 1991 but it was quite a few years old then. It's a limited edition run of 5000.

Talk to an AD that handles several types of Swatch Group watches (i.e. Omega, Hamilton, Longines, Tissot); they should be able to order them.
