Chamfers & Bevel Thread - What's slicing ?

Inspired by Seb's & Greg's sharp 1675 & 1680 with equally vivacious case profile today.

My 1960 GMT with Mk1 PCG to start the knives throwing exercise ;-)

A subject close to my heart.

In the spirit of this thread, I just took these [rather inferior quality, sorry] photos of the raw, unpolished case on my 1.6mil 1967 MK1 1675.

I'll see what I can find of the 1680, 9411/0 and 16600 - which are all unpolished, also. Or take some new ones.

Chris - nothing to rival the sublime chamfers on the early 60s case designs, such as yours, as you know they 'evolved' to slowly disappear over the decades, sadly, but at least up to 1990 there was something of the old lines left...

OK, I dug up a few of the 2.6mil 1680 Red - not exactly macro, but you can get the essence of what's there.

Yes Karl, we are geeky in that way - VR NUTZ !!! Its a shame that this trend has gradually ended although we have re-issue like Tudor heritage. NOT the same IMO

But it seems we still have a lot of honest pieces around without cosmetic & botox treatment cases LOL!

Merci beaucoup for the pixs mon ami - manifique!
