39mm Explorer I needs service
My Explorer needs service. It is running way slow. It's about 3 and a half years old and was purchased through a trusted seller on TRF.
Should I send it to an RSC or some other watchmaker/repair place? I have used ABC Watchwerks with good results on an older, non-Rolex watch. If an RSC does it matte which one? I live 100 miles from Dallas, but would likely have to ship it in any case. I am leaning toward just shipping it to the RSC in Dallas unless anybody has a strong recommendation otherwise. L |

Strong recommendation, no, but an Indy will charge less

Depends on what you want. An indy will do just as good a job (Vanessa, Rik, ABC, etc) and a little cheaper but the warranty will be with them. RSC will be a little more expensive but will include a world wide warranty.

I would lean to rsc but again my local one in Toronto seems to have a good reputation.

With an indy like Rik, you know who will be working on your watch and can call and speak with him anytime. With the RSC you have no idea who that might be. With NYC it could be the resident intern.

At only 3 1/2 years, are you sure it needs a full service. I would get it looked at by a good independent first and go from there.
