I like it but the 430 is still my favorite F car.

Not me both cars are too small for me however, that Ferrari looks like a better head machine than the S2000 would be at my age... If I was 19 to 25 years of age, yea, an S2000 would be a fantastic little car and perfect! Right now, at my age with the belly I have... I would simply look ridiculous in either the Ferrari or the S2000, a little like dressing like a 20 year old.

Interestingly enough, Patrick, according to the press release, the California is meant as a F430 alternative for more, uh, mature buyers. Go figure.

Not announced yet

The only things that they announced are engine specifications

Didn't read the press release, I am sure all Ferrari are meant for a more mature audience compared to Honda sports car, this said - I used to loved the Prelude and I am sorry they did not continue that line ... Just for the way I look some things are no longer suitable, trust me when I say I am no Clark Gable

I wouldn't feel comfortable in either car, the Ferrari or the S2000 but wouldn't mind owning either cause I am sure they are truly fun cars to drive just that I would look terribly hilarious in either car

That would be nice but if you can afford one of those you could have a full collection of Ferraris

I know, we had a family friend who flipped his years ago and used the proceeds to buy a nice piece of real property and jump start his auto collection which now includes Packards, another Ferrari, and LOTS of other great marques!

For me, the ultimate Ferrari is the 365 "Daytona". Last of the front engine/rear wheel drive monsters until recently.

Part of me loves the 365 GTB/GTS, but for ME, the ultimate Ferrari that may eventually be in reach is the more recent 550 Maranello. Not that I would turn down ANY Ferrari, mind you!

May I suggest perhaps a Jag XJR? In British Racing Green, of course.

Funny you should mention that - I do believe that James Coburn's '61 California sold yesterday for US$11 million.

I have been reading its more of an "entry level" Ferrari based on the Maserati frame/unibody with Ferrari running gear. Its anticipated to MSRP about $150-$160k. Purists are not considering it a "true Ferrari" because it is not being mfgrd in Italy.

I've always liked the Daytona Ferrari even if it was a little difficult to drive. Very muscular car that had an interesting steering that I was always ambivalent about. The sounds it made more than made up for it and I always wanted to drive a convertible for that reason alone. Personally, I prefer the Boxer from the mid-70s because of the handling was so superb.

A pic of a 550 which is another favorite, and the last front engined design I've driven. Very nice handling with a big GT car feel. I like it because it's not quite as obvious on the road as say a red 430. But since I haven't driven one yet, I might just fall for its outrageousness.

Nice pic. The other thing about the 550 over the mid engines (i.e. Testarossa, 360 - only one's I have personal experience with) is that I can FIT in them. Being 6'3" limits my ability to comfortably fit in a lot of supercars. I agree with you about the Daytona sound at speed, amazing. It's steering is like a truck at USA speeds, but over 90mph, it's appreciated!
