My Dilemma

I currently own a Black ceramic sub, a green ceramic sub, a blue yacht master and a GMT BLNR. I was thinking of selling off the black sub as it is quite similar to the GMT. However, It is a hard decision, and I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I'd sell. The LVC is all you need in a Sub.

I'm thinking of selling because of the money I have tied up in these watches. I would like to go on vacation this summer and I don't like the idea of having all this money tied up in watches. I suppose it's not like I need the cash right away because I am doing okay, but it's just the idea.

I already did that in February. I originally sold a two tone date just that made me feel old when I wore it. So I bought the lvc and the blnr. Then I bought the two tone back. Then last weekend I went out and traded it for the blue yachtmaster.

I wouldn't sell the watch to fund a vacation, but that's just me.
If you feel you have too much money tied up in your collection, then I guess selling makes sense

I wouldn't let go of it just yet...wait and see if something sparks your interest and then you can flip for it. The sub retains value very well so it's not going to be hard to move when the moment comes.

Hulk with date is enough. You can probably add 114060 instead of your Sub Date.

Always a tough decision to sell a Sub, b/c technically it's all one ever will need

But I would probably say yes b/c the GMT and Black Sub too similar.

If you didn't have the LVC, then I would tell you to keep and sell the GMT.

maybe just hang tight for another month and revisit. (sorry really not helping)

I had the date just II slate roman two tone and I didn't wear it often. I think it had to do with the fact that it was two tone. I'm a 25 year old guy and it just made me feel like I was 25 to 30yrs older.

You will regret it. Guaranteed....especially when you come back from vacation. It is better to have money tied up in watches rather than the bank. Having it in the bank will only help it disappear quicker.

DON'T DO IT. Do something else to keep you mind off selling it. This is the sort of thing that happens when you are bored.

I think a date Sub and a Hulk are redundant. I have a BLNR and just got a no date Sub. That's enough differentiation for me, I would expect it to fit in better for you too.

Well,...If you feel you have to much wraped up in watches that's one thing and only you can answer that.

The LVC is a stunning reference and rightly gets a lot of love. Consider though how classic the black Submariner is. There aren't really that many iconic pieces that have the history of the Submariner and the black has it all.

I'll make somewhat of a counter argument and say go ahead and sell one or more and take a vacation. Life is about balance. Anyone other than the WIS crowd (of which I'm a part) would say that collection is redundant and excessive (I'm not being critical as I have 6 chronographs). But in the end, none of these watches are rare and can always be repurchased down the road. I saw a link to this on Facebook or AOL or something like that. Just food for thought.

So, I say to the OP, keep your watches and sell your smartphone and your car and take a nice cruise or something.
