First Rolex...

Just picked up my first Rolex today, and went for a 116610LN. After a 10 minute walk outside in the sun, when I went inside I was surprised to see the dots glowing so brightly. Must be the Australian sun...

Never, ever, ever sell or flip that one. It is your first Rolex, and should always be special to you. It will always be a classic. You will never have to answer to anybody for owning it. You may (probably will, in the minds of most TRFers) desire another Rolex or other watch or other watches, but save up for them rather than cash this one in to finance another timepiece. Wear it in good health, everywhere and for everything. Do not ever regret the scratches, dings or massive damage to this watch - it can live longer than a mere human being. If you are patient and accepting of the scars it may experience, it will be a story of your life, and can be passed on to descendents or other special ones as you deem appropriate.

I am happy for you.

Congratulations.
