Black Bay vs Speedy Pro 3750

Hi gentlemen. Wanted to know if you had any quick thoughts on a Speedy Pro vs Black Bay (blue bezel) as a daily wearer.

Currently I have a Speedy Pro. My usual AD (authorized Tudor and Omega) knows i have it, and someone came in and asked for a pre-owned one. So they want it and will give me a new Black Bay (on bracelt, but I would also wear on an olive green NATO) as an even trade.

I am torn. I don't use the chrono functions of the Speedy ever, as I'm more of a time-only type of guy. Also, since I use this daily, the automatic might be nice as opposed to the manual wind of the Speedy. On the other hand, the Speedy Pro is so classic. But (and maybe I am just trying to talk myself into it), the Tudor is based on the classic snowflake submariners with the blueish bezels.

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

Speedmaster, 100%

It sits so much better on the wrist. It's been around for decades for a reason.

Black Bay vs Speedy Pro 3750

If you flip the speedy you'll buy it again later. However the sapphire one is more appropriate for daily wear IMHO.

I've not owned a speedy so I cannot comment on it. Looks cool though.
The Black Bay is a solid watch and will do you proud as a daily wearer.

Speedy is a classic design. BB is a loose interpretation of a classic design.

Speedy. But I can see how a manual wind would be a nuisance as a daily.

I would go for the Speedmaster. It's much more versatile and a true classic.

Speedmaster for sure.

I have an early ('69 I think) Mark II but will get a "moon watch" at some point as well.

I Like the look of the Tudor but you should try it on- it wears a bit big in my opinion, and I suggest a true vintage Tudor instead. (and why I ended up with one myself!)

I would also keep the speedmaster. You can get the black bay for under 3k, I would just save for it.

I have a 16610LV and a 3750.50. I (atm) wear the Speedy Pro more than the Sub.

I love both but wouldn't sell one over the other.

Keep the Speedy, save and add to it.

Never had the BB before, but I've had the Speedy. It is an incredible watch, history, looks, all that - but in the end I sold it because the winding everyday was just not an enjoyable experience for me. Often times I would forget and the watch would stop. For me, I wouldn't do another manual as a daily wear.

I have the midnight Blue Black Bay and the 3570.50. I think you would be up on the deal but I would not do the trade. The speedy is very comfortable on the wrist. I find the Black Bay is a little too heavy and wear a bit to big on my 7.5 inch wrists, just MHO.

The speedy is a staple in my collection.

Cheers,

Lawrence

The Speedmaster professional is a clear winner between the two. It's the real deal rather than "based off of" something else. But then again it's your money so good luck in your decision.

I was ton as well to buy a speed moon watch or a black bay, and ended up with the speedy for the history, smaller size, and under the radar looks.
But after recently purchasing a speedy pro for daily wear, I must say I do miss the auto wind feature of my other watches!

For some reason, it's just not pleasant to wind, like my Panerai is.

The Tudor is MUCH chunkier, that's one reason I went with the speedy. But, I'm having thoughts of selling it to get a Black bay.

Good thing is both are cheap, and easy to flip both with minimal to no loss if you buy used.

good luck!
