How much should a PM Rolex depreciate in 1 year?
So let's say if I sold my PM watch after 1 year (it's still under warranty), which I bought brand new from a trusted dealer (meaning I got a v good price). Percentage wise how much should/would I end up loosing? Whats a good range?

If sold privately, maybe a 15-20% loss. If sold to a dealer, then 35-40%.

Depends on things like model, signs of wear and how you want to sell it.
But why should you sell your PM watch after 1 year?

Depends on many factors but from new I'd expect a huge loss. 25-30%+. They are harder to sell for obvious reasons.

In the last 2 months I bought and sold a PM Rolex from a trusted seller on TRF then traded it against another high end watch with a 13% depreciatory hit over exactly one year of ownership. That said I bought it from the trusted seller BNIB on a list less 24% basis

If you bought saving 25-30% off retail, then you shouldn't lose much more than 10-15% selling now.

. . . and it is going to uniquely depend this year on what Apple does to the market. Yeah yeah I know, but it actually may have an effect.

I wouldn't let these kind of thoughts dominate your buying experience...it's a great watch that you are going to absolutely love. Buy right and you'll be fine.

Have you looked at prices I'm the for sale forum on (I assume) day dates? It should give you a ball park on how much they are going for...

I have almost the same dynamics. Did you sell it directly to a consumer or a dealer?

PM rolex is bad w depreciation, SS is the way to go if you wanna take less depreciation hit. Scrap value of precious metal vs mark up is not in your favour when buying PM rolex.

I can't imagine you'd lose much at all if you negotiate a good price to begin with. Perhaps 10% at most. Obviously it's more difficult to sell PM and the less popular the model, the more difficult / longer it may take to sell.
Good luck |

Depends on the model, but in general terms up to 40%.
