Advice welcome... 372 - 587 - 422????
I'm leaning toward the 587 because they seem to be selling right around retail and I'm particularly drawn to the "Marina Militare" style but 372's are going for extremely appealing prices by comparison and the crown guard speaks to me a bit as well. The 422 would allow for sight of the second hands a bit more complex style though of course and its pricing is certainly a middle ground.... In my shoes which would you fine gentlemen pick as your only Panerai in the watch collection? I'm not a particularly dressed up individual on a daily basis I should say and my stature is that of a 6' Bodybuilder so none of them would be particularly "large looking" on me. Any guidance/suggestions are much appreciated - thanks for looking!

Three are great 47mm choices.
![]() Do you need to see something moving on the dial and/or sapphire instead of plexiglass? 422 (which has the bonus of the PR on the back). 372 is pure basic PAM DNA at the finest. Many say it's all the PAM anyone "needs". 587 has the MM dial and limited production, which should help it hold value better if you flip, but if you buy the others well (especially LNIB), you should be fine. The days of OP jackpots, though, are probably over. Good luck with your choice! ![]() |

I looked at same models myself before choosing the 217 Marina Militare aka Destro. The 587 was my runner up and only wished it had normal lume like the 217 vs faux patina. Overall between the 3 you mention I still choose the 587 as the MM dial is uber cool! The 372 is a cool back up though and priced right if bought right! Cheers and all great options...

587 is a great watch and my only Panerai. Try them all on and buy what makes you smile widest. Here's a pic of mine for good measure:

I never asked if the 587 was coming from a local Boutique at "list" price. If the answer's yes and you love the "1940" look, go for it. It WILL increase in value, almost certainly. If you find yourself missing the CG down the road, you can trade it in for a 372 and change. Lots of change... ![]() Good luck man ![]()

587 all the way!!!! You will love it!!!
I missed the crown guard but the dial and hands are the best out of any 47mm watch outside of the 217 which I WISH was right handed. The 127 is great too but the 1950s on the dial bothered the hell out of me when I owned it. |

All beautiful watches gentlemen. When I size up to a 47mm piece some day all of these are on my radar.
