Used Rolex or New Tudor

Quick question, for your first "real" watch, would you rather buy a new Tudor, or used Rolex. They are about the same price.

Tudor date-day

Since this is your first watch, you are likely to flip it in the near future. You would be better off buying a pre-owned Rolex.

A used Rolex will hold its value way better than a new Tudor, but both are great choices. I'm wearing a Black Bay Heritage right now. Great piece. Which do you like better? Make that your main criteria for your decision.

I agree. If it's a rare Tudor with great resale at a good price then why not?

Otherwise Rolex all the way...

Forget resale and perceived value. Get the watch YOU like. If it doesn't make you smile when wearing, it's not the right watch for you.

My vote is for Tudor.

For the most part, I think it comes down to personal taste. Both are very good watches, though for me, Rolex will always have the greater appeal. I suppose some people though are also drawn to Tudor as they appear to be continuing with the tool watch trend or look, and appear to offer very good value for money. Good luck with your choice anyway!

It depends on the reference, but I'd buy either of them used, rather than new.

I love both pieces in fact I own a date-day classic TT. If you want a watch you won't run into everyday Tudor all the way. But you can never go wrong with a DJ either. There doesn't seem to be a shortage of either on the used market it's a little harder to find the Tudor but can be done with little effort. First watch for me would be the Tudor but people seem to be Tudor people or not Tudor people. New is nice but used clears more for the next piece. Sorry for the leingthy anwser Tudor but find it used and compare price before you buy new IMHO.

The used Rolex 1603. It's a classic. Enjoy!
