What do we think of the Panerai 127? Worth it?

Well with the 217 it's for me THE 2 iconic 47mm Pams, depends on the price at this moment, 2 years ago they were around 15K or more, not worth it at that price IMO, especially it's not a very limited model since they made 1950 of them, for me the best are the 82, 36 and 217...

Love it my friend and as owner of the 217 can tell you they are amazing! I prefer the 217 though as I love the Marina Militare dial and unique Destro! It is also so comfortable to wear on left wrist as CG doesn't dig into wrist. Either way both well worth the money IMHO! Cheers,

pure classic modern panerai that will always have a following among the diehards.

personally, i love the font, non-ecru lume and dome as well as the place in panerai's modern history, all of which one has to appreciate, IMHO, to pay the premium over a 372.

will it slowly depreciate from its prior lofty heights due to OP's continued re-issues? yes, probably, but, not as dramatically as compared to some other models.

I didn't give Panerai the time of day till I started admiring your pics in instagram. They are really something else. I am trying to know the brand and figure out which are the worthy pieces. The 127 has taken a few minutes of sleep lately. I'll keep you posted.

13 is the number that would make me jump on it.

Travis I know most of the big dealers and Dan Fernandez is a friend - I know his buy number and he is one of biggest Panerai dealers. Logan I would actually check with him as I know he has a mint complete one and my guess is even though ask is $17K you could get for $15K. Anyway just strapped my Destro 217 on for the weekend on custom Simona Bruno Allegrini strap and all I can say is you will love the Fiddy too!

I went absolutely nuts when the "1940" 587 came out and then after some time I realized I'm a 1950s / superdome man at heart.

So yeah, I'd say the 127 is still one of the core PAM grails to date. Go for it. If you ever change your mind down the road, flipping it will be easy.

I sold my 127 for $16k. Haven't really felt a need for another Panerai since the 372.

No disagreement from me but for my purposes, I'd rather use the cost difference between the 127 v 372 towards a Patek or PM Rolex than have it locked up in a Panerai. The 372 satisfied my Panerai lust at a significant savings over the 127.
