Icon5 How many of you have had a "change of plan?"

Common guys, I would love to know how many of you have gone into an AD "planning" to buy a specific watch, but came out with another one? It has happened to me more than once. Last time I came in with the wife ready to buy a Date just II, but left with a Yatchmaster. Hard to explain this "phenomenon" but it has happened to me, and I think it must have happened to some of you as well.

Happens to me all the time. Even with watches I was supposed certain about.

I bought a cerachrome bezel Daytona and following the purchase I said that watch was not for me. I have yet to make my mind what to go for instead

I've been swayed many times and almost bought something else..but so far, I've stuck to my original plans. (could be because the alternatives were way more costly! )

The last 3 I've bought 2 Rolex 1 Omega I only called in for a look and a quick try on. Now whenever I go near a watch shop my better half starts to have a panic attack.

It happened with these two. Thought I wanted the choco Daytona and the black YG subc but when I tried these two on they stole my heart and breath.

Never happened to me. I tend to spend a lot of time obsessing before pulling the trigger. Particularly given the cost of these watches.

Yes, it happened to me when I went into an AD. This is why time and again you will be advised by TRFers to try one on before you pull the trigger......especially for those of you who buy one online.

It hasn't happened to me either. I also spend so much time thinking about it before I buy a watch that I always know exactly what I want. I do still try on others though. In saying that I have always just bought SS. I have never had the funds to walk in with 30/40k. Only god knows what could happen the day I can do that.

Neil, they are 2 absolute stunners. I definitely think you made the right choice with both of those

Yesterday, went to AD to pick up the EVO Aerospace.
Tried on a DJ II, was smitten, then checked out the WG, Black Dial SkyDweller. What a stunning watch. Just couldn't bring myself to spend what they are asking for, so I'm going to hold out until I find one from a trusted seller at a more reasonable $$.
I'm lucky with the wife though, she's more of an enabler than a worry bean.

Last year I went to get a TT blue sub - and the AD talked me into a SS white Daytona.
Never again.
Just bought my dream sub and traded the Daytona for a VC.

I went into an AD a few months ago to confirm that I wanted a Pelagos and came away wanting the Black Bay instead. Ordered it a few days later from a seller right here.

Thank you, guys. I absolutely love the two I picked but I really did like the two I did not, so I picked up a black GMTc and hopefully a ceramic Daytona this summer.

With my first. Went in to buy a SubC and left with a GMT2c. Funny enough the AD was trying to talk me back into the Sub as the GMT was their last one and I made them pull it from from a wall display case. They had several subs. I think she was just being lazy and didn't want to have to get someone to open the wall case.

My changes of plan tend to happen after I purchase, not before. And they happen all the time.

So naturally I became the proud owner of a 116600.

I'm always 100% sure what I want before making a purchase. I guess I'm boring.

I have done this. Walked in to purchase a BLNR GMT IIc, had them order a DJII for me instead. Just couldn't get used to ceramic bezel on my wrist in person, after spending a couple of hours with it (scotch in hand from AD). No regrets.
