Input needed about Pam 557 and 2 contenders

I have an opportunity to buy a brand new PAM 557 with a very good price, I had before the PAM 372, but the Crown Guard bather me a bit on the wrist due to case size, so its seems that this 557 is the perfect solution.

I just want a have one Panerai Luminor, on my box. Other contenders are PAM 422 and PAM 233 (DOT Dial, K series). The PAM 557 is brand new and the 422 and 233 are used.

Resale is very important to me as well, Any of these have better resale than the others ?

Thanks

well, since the 372 wasn't comfortable, i would say the 422 should be ruled out immediately, leaving the 557 and 233.

557 will be exactly like your 372.....but, destro. if go destro, why not mix it up with the 217? see ken's and traveller's pics if you need convincing...

i would say that a dot 233, if bought right, should retain value best of the three you cited, as it is one of the best modern models.

but, do you "need" the device protecting the crown? or, could you consider a 587? pretty much the 372, but more exclusive and without the crown guard....

as an aside, do you still have your 292?

I think you just didn't have the right fitting strap. The proper sized strap on a Panerai won't move at all.

Now That I think about it , I really don't need a Panerai w GMT, A complication that I used to love and I see no point in my collection. Its not like I am Traveler.
And I really need the Luminor.
And no the 292 is gone cuz I Bought the AP ceramic diver

I think is more than that but your point might have some influence.

I am leaning to the 557 but resale is a concern. Don't know if people might see it like weird

well, if you have to limit yourself to one ceramic, it's tough to argue with the Ceramic Diver. amazing watch and the one to have (despite my love for the 292).

destros will always have a place in the panerai world, but it's definitely more of a sub-culture than non-destros. but, i have no quantitative info as to re-sale on this one. i would think you should be fine unless you buy MSRP at a boutique (but, given that this is a pretty rare model, you might need to go boutique/AD).

If you buy the 557 for a good price you should be OK in case if you flip it

But if it is a rare model, maybe resale can be good (as long as I buy right)
I think resale of the 557 might be better than 372

Congrats on the 557. It's a great looking watch. If I had been on time to the party, I'd have tried to sway you to the 422. The domed sapphire is awesome.

Great looking piece, congrats! Would have pushed for the 422 as well, but am biased :)

For what its worth, think the 557 will do well at resale...not odd or weird

Hi buddy, I had the Pam 233 "dot" dial, my grey dealer friend sold it for me, I think it went away after something like 2 weeks, so I would say the resale on that particular model is very good, especially the "dot" dial which seems to be the most wanted by Pam aficionados

Congrats, looking awesome! You don't see 557s all too often so that's definitely a bonus!

Enjoy

Yeah but he's looking for a model which has good resale, so if they're not often around it might mean that they're not a model which is very sought after, so that would mean that resale isn't good on them

Thanks guys , I feel that I did the right the choice.
@ck1109, I think I double my 3 goal, but I still believe that 3 is the perfect number, unfortunately I am far from perfect
