Best bracelet for travel
Am planning a trip to Oz for a old school friends wedding. Obviously will be bringing my Rolex (taking the deepsea). Will be stopping off enroute via Hong Kong and Singapore and then on to Sydney and Melbourne.
What bracelet is better to have on? The Rubber B or the Oyster? Yes the watch is insured so no problem travelling with it just for those who might say leave it at home. |

For me personally they oyster bracelet is honestly what keeps me so loyal to Rolex. No mater the metal it is the most comfortable and versatile bracelet I have ever worn and I have a worn a few in my young life. So I would personally say Oyster.

What difference would it make that you're travelling? Put the oyster on and take the Rubber B in your carry on, then you have both.

I like to travel with leather, just incase it gets banged around bit en route. Then ill switch over to a SS or precious metal.

The glide lock clasp makes the oyster bracket the perfect choice.

I would say RubberB actually. Under the radar, comfy. Though not sure what's more hot and wearable in summer / rubber or oyster.

All steel is my preferred.
Hard and solid. Just as Rolex meant it to be. |

I think I would go Oyster...
Although I see where you are coming from. I wore my Breitling on rubber to Disney world, and it was a great choice due to the lines, chains, rides, and getting my kids in and out. Rubber is great in it's own way, versatile, and a killer summer accessory, just not as nice and formal as SS or PM IMO. |

Was thinking about bringing the rubber b as well but don't want the hassle of changing the bracelet all the time. As i will be hopefully going to some nice beaches etc i think the rubber b would be good but again i want a smart watch i,e on a bracelet for the wedding and other evening entertainment.

Oyster. The clasp is perfect to adjust on the go.
The rubber, although comfy, can tend to make your wrist feel a bit sweaty with long term continuous wear. At least in my experience. |

I think we are in fortunate times in that we have only really solid choices for bracelets. The easy link, glide lock and or a Rubber B to compliment them. Not a bad chopped in the bunch.

Metal bracelet, but in all honesty, any would do. For me, travelling should be no different than day-to-day activities you do in your home town. Unless the travels entail some sort of rough and active terrain, then there is no reason why anyone should deviate from there regular watches.
I have travelled to Europe, Asia, and the US wearing watches with the Jubilee and Oyster bracelets and have not had any issues. My personal preferences, especially when visiting Europe and Asia would be my Explorer II (at that time) and now my GMT for obvious reasons.

Let me preface by saying that I LOVE the Rubber B strap. In fact, I'm wearing it as I type this.
With that said, if you're attending a wedding, I'd go with the more formal OEM Oyster bracelet. Rubber B is great for EDC use, but if I'm going to a wedding, I'd like to be as blingy as possible. |

If you have the newer one with the glidelock I'd lean towards the bracelet if you are only bringing one. Personally, after bringing my Royal Oak Chrono on a bracelet on a spring break trip to Arizona I'm not traveling with a non-adjustable bracelet anymore. My wrist got swollen to the point where the bracelet didn't fit and I couldn't wear my AP most of the trip. So when I travel this summer my watches will be on rubber straps with the bracelets or straps in my carry-on.

Oyster for sure, especially with going to such humid climates as Singapore and HK.

Isofrane straps breathe rather well. I have one on my dive computer and it's constantly in water and humidity. No issues with breathability, "stick" or stink.
Since you're attending a wedding you might as well go with the Oyster. |

It was 3c in Sydney this morning so you will do well to run up a sweat! Stay with Oyster I suspect, but really is a first world problem, being there for your mate and enjoying our country is the end game.
