Need Help and Advise on an old Date Just

I bought this Date Just over 30 years ago in St. Thomas at Little Switzerland for $750. It has never been serviced and still runs although it is a few minutes late a day. My questions are 1) What Model is this 2) Should I get it serviced 3) What would the service cost? The mark on the inside of the bracelet is 555. Any responses will be appreciated. I guess I am asking, If this were your watch, what would you do?

Thanks

The model and cerial numbers are in between the lugs. If you remove the bracelet it should tell you enough to google the anwsers to your questions of what you have. If you bought it new the paperwork will tell you aswell. If it were mine I would service it and enjoy it.

Looks like a 1603, servicing will probably be around $500 from an independent plus another couple hundred for a new dial

In my opinion this would be a prime candidate for a full service from a good independent.
It's a Rolex, it's a nice Rolex, it's worth the cost.

Yeah, they offered and charged me for hands when I got a 5513 service dial about 18 months ago. Pretty cheap, though. I think she quoted about us$70 or something.

I would get it to Rolex Service Center for a full service.
After you spend the $$ it will look brand new.
So well worth it imo.
