My dad's DateJust

I was talking to my dad while at a BBQ at my brother's home last week we started talking about watches.

My dad has a DateJust bought in the early early 1990's while in Manila visiting friends. He bought for himself a DateJust (tapestry dial, two tone) and a lady DateJust for my mom, TT as well.

I took at look at his watch and I noticed two things:

1. The dial didnt' have any T < 25 / T Swiss T printed on the dial at all;
2. The caseback had markings on it "Water Resistant".

He bought it from an AD in Manila.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks,

Vernon

This "Water Resistant" writing on the caseback sounds odd.

I don't think Rolex ever did that.

On some early Lady DJ's, though, the caseback said "Original Rolex Design - Stainless Steel"

Could you post a pic?

Sorry, my memory is not doing too well. It was my mom's that had the water resistant marking. However I only took my dad's wrist and looked at the dial.

I'll take a pix on both watches so that I'm clear and not distorting what I saw.
