Went in to buy a 15202. Came out needing to save some more money..

This is obviously not the Boutique, and the 15202 he has was a sealed and packed watch which the guy was really not wanting to open and remove. They usually sell the jumbo that way apparently.
Anyways I have tried it on before, I knew it was slightly big but said I could live with it. He did have a 15300 which I tried on.
The links were already removed and I just couldn't help but feel that the watch didn't sit as nicely as I like. The gap between the lugs was annoying me, and he assured me that the 15202 would be exactly the same.

I absolutely love the dial, the bracelet is something that I have been wanting for a long time, but I can't stand the look where the watch doesn't sit.

Moving on I found another piece. The PP 5711. The first time for me to see in the flesh, and I was blown away completely.
Have yet to try this beauty in blue, but the way she sits on my wrists, the light weight of the watch, the dial, the PCL, EVERYTHING. I really really like the white honestly, but I have to try and find the blue before pulling the trigger.

And here we are again..

Awesome to find what you really want. Can you explain the lug gap?

Extremely bummed out honestly because I REALLY love the look + bracelet, history and movement are incredible too.
Also extremely excited to hunt the 5711 in blue to give it a try.

Agree. 5711 looks a bit better on you.

15450 at 37mm would be a better fit.

Looks like the watch you tried on was the 15400 not 15300, which wears significantly larger than the 15202. But glad you got what you wanted, but what you tried on was not representative of the 15202.

This is a GREAT post and exactly why all of us should try them on before buying. I have a 6.5" wrist and definitely want to make a Royal Oak work but unfortunately it just doesn't fit the shape of my wrist. I was in the AP Boutique in Florence and tried on the 15202 in Rose and pointed out the gap to the manager and he agreed that it did not fit me well and sadly was not the right piece for me. Many Sales Associates will always tell you that the watch looks great just to make the sale but I could really appreciate his honesty and professionalism. I own a Blue 5711 and it fits perfect. Happy Hunting my friend!

Another option would be a VC Overseas although probably most would rank it below the PP and AP. But like the PP, the VCs bracelet is very flexible and conforms better to your wrist. The APs bracelet is a lot of things, but flexible is not one of its qualities

Never seems to be love for the Vc overseas, but it is 42mm and I felt wears larger than 5167, 15202. Probably 5711 too. I certainly agree on the bracelet. I think it's the nicest bracelet I've ever owned and that includes 15202.....doesn't sparkle like 15202 but fits silky smooth. Dunno, maybe the 5711 is similar.

Now the bracelet on the 15450 works well but the dial is too smal for my liking.
I have issues I know.
If the 15202 bracelet was flexible it would have been the one.

It is the 15300 in the pics. Same diameter as the 15202 with the same stiff bracelet.
Going to try the jumbo anyway in 2 days but I've been assured that it sits exactly the same and I will have the same problems as in the pics.

Okay, must have been the angle but it looked like the double batons at 12. Still don't think the 15300 fits the same as the 15202. Same case diameter at 39mm, but thicker movement and slightly thicker bracelet. May not make enough of a difference though.

While I much prefer Jumbo over 5711, I think in your case, the 5711 is a much better fit.

I'm looking to add a Jumbo as well. I currently have a 5726 so for me a 15202 makes more sense than a 5711. I had the opportunity to try the Jumbo on recently and to me it seemed a good fit.

The PP looks better on you. How would they have a 15300 in stock? Is it used or something?

Can't go wrong with either but I prefer the naut for the screw down crown, quickset and such. May still add the 15202 at some point.

I think the 5711 is a bit more comfy, but the 15202/15400 look better, IMO. Mostly due to the bracelet shimmer.

I love my 5711, the bracelet is amazing on the wrist. It drapes as opposed to the Royal oak which fits closer to bracelet.
