Scratched 2 links pretty good
I scratched 2 of my links pretty bad last night at an event for kids with epilepsy. It's not really noticable, but I'm just bummed. Now my sub really has some character and at least it's a memory I won't forget since those kids truly touched my heart I can always polish it out later......this post is really just like counseling myself and talking it out HEHEHEHEHEHE.

Don't sweat it. Scratches are going to happen not matter how careful you are. Enjoy the Sub and the memories!

Matt, If the damage is too bad to handle, just polish them out, otherwise that's just part of wearing them and enjoying them, Peter

Sorry to hear about this, Matt!
But as Jeff states, sooner or later your watch will get scratched. Luckily, my SD is pretty much scratchless, so far, but I know it will get scratches eventually. RSC will always be able to remove those scratches unless it's this SD that reportedly was involved in a motorcycle accident: (Sources unknown; pics from my Photobucket).

Should I decide to polish it out, is the cape cod (very carefully with the grain and not to firmly) the way to go?? My ROlex polishing cloth doesn't seem to cut it.

Bo, that poor sea-dweller. WOW, I know I am en route to becoming a WIS when I think "poor little watch" before thinking of the unfortunate owner who was more than likely injured very badly if his watch looks like that.

PM sent. Don't use a Cape Cod on your bracelet, unless you want those two links to be HIGHLY POLISHED.

Scratches are bound happen. I would be bummed if the crystal were scratched

If you're careful it doesn't remove much metal, just puts aligning brush marks over the scratches...

Too bad about the scratches. See if you can live with them until your next service and they will be polished right out. More importantly, kudos to you for supporting the kids at the event last night.

Now that you officially broke in your watch, you can just "relax and enjoy your watch."

As someone who suffers from epilepsy I would say thanks for supporting the children in a condition that most people ignore.
And sorry to hear about your watch ,but they are designed to be worn and take a beating. Look upon it and remember the kids! Si |

Matt!
I'm bummed for you! I suppose if you really wanted to, you could have a RSC or a reputable jeweler fix that for you, but of course, that would be out of pocket. Anyways, cudos to you for getting involved with a charity! And mic6, man, if you don't have anything nice or helpful to say... |

I feel your pain. I recently got a Daytona and have been wearing it everyday for about three weeks. I seem to rub the two links closest to the clasp on the 12 o'clock side. I think I rub them against tables or whatever. It is a bummer, but I know I can always get them polished out.

Well, here are my 2 cents.. DONT TOUCH IT!! AND DONT LET ANY ROLEX DEALER TOUCH IT!! THEY WILL NEVER DO THE JOB ROLEX WILL DO! SEND IT TO ROLEX ONLY FOR A POLISH.. trust me but these jewelers do not have the same tools and buffs that rolex has and any other job is half fast... trust me just leave it or send it to rolex if you want it perfect...
