Company Gift - Air King?

I saw this auction, it looks like he got a really nice gift from his company, a new Air King, take a look at the auction, it looks great, so I emailed him and what the rerserve was and I commented on how great a gift it was and asked how long he had been there, thinking he would say 40 years or something, here is what he said....

Dear rusty974,

The reserve is $2,800. I've been with my company for 11 years and yes it is an extremely generous gift for such a relatively short time. My wife has worked for the same company for 21 years and she has never received anything nearly as nice. Sometimes you just get lucky I guess...

I don't know about you, but something is wrong here, what do you all think?

I think it's real, although the starting price is high. I doubt it will sell. He's about an hour from me; if you're serious about the watch, you can see if he'll meet me at an AD around here.

I think he is high too, I will watch the auction and see whewre it goes.

it just is odd how he worked 11 years and got a Rolex his wife 21 years and nothing like that as a gift.

Thanks for the offer to go check it out for me

There was a thread a few months ago about a guy who was getting a gift like this. I am pretty sure it was an Ak, but cannot find the original thread. Could be the same watch.

Let's say the story is true. What a slap in the face to sell it.

He ONLY has....

2 FB. One was in Dec 06 and the other in Dec 07. I suspect he purchased Holiday gifts each time????

Nonetheless, I would NOT purchase anything from anyone, that expensive, without more pic's, papers (which he SHOULD have), etc.

Stan.
