Why do I do this to myself???
Seeing that I have been for the most part lurking and wondering about JJ's affinity for sheep, I also wondered about the ease with which some members of this forum flip their watches to obtain other goodies. Why, after purchasing such a fine watch, would anybody want to then sell it? Often at a loss, I would wonder "are these people nuts???" Having just purchased a tt gmt-c about a month and a half ago I was perfectly happy with it or so I thought.
Today I made the mistake of stopping at a local AD. I have liked the looks of the SS Daytona, but figured it was out of reach. I am not a patient person, so the thought of having to wait months to get a watch would drive me crazy. Well the dealer tells me I would be at the top of the list and she might just have one at their central office. Adding a Rolex is not within the budget at the moment, but if I flip my gmt, then I might be able to pull it off. I am happy with the gmt, but that Daytona sure looks purrty. ![]() I must tell myself a hundred times "close eyes when walking by Rolex AD". Just wanted to vent a bit, thanks for listening. Dex |

Yeah you know it is truly tough. For me I plan to sell none of my watches until there are some cool vintage ones restored that could probably bring a tiny bit of profit some day. Some people on the other hand are 1 watch men or women and when getting another watch they sell the current one and move on. You have a difficult choice to make but either way you will be satisfied, try be contented or as much as possible because there will always be something "better" or that appeals to you.

Dex sometimes sacrifices must be done in order to get deep and complete satisfaction. To own the SS Daytona IMHO is the complete satisfaction any watch collector can have. Go get it man!

If you get the chance to buy an SS Daytona, just go for it!
Best of luck!
