DateJust 18K from early '50's belonging to the former President of Brasil

Unfortunately, I couldn't get hallmarks or any other stamps on the back. It belong to Juscelino Kubitschek (AKA JK) when he was the President of Brasil from 1956-1961. He died in a car accident while wearing this in 1976 outside of Rio.

There's question of if the accident was really an accident.

He was instrumental in moving the Capitol of Brasil from Rio to Brasilia.

I wanted to get more information on the reference of the watch as its provenance is unquestionably on the mark. Specifically if it is 18k YG. I know it's not the best picture.

Thanks

The head should be 18kt, would be marked on the inside of the caseback, bracelet could've been a replacement so you never know. But it's stamped inside the clasp.

Very neat watch.

Other questions:
The hands look period correct. Do think it came with roulette date wheel ? Hour makers look good too ?
True that the bracelet could have been replaced. It's from the 1950's though, the head ? Looks like a beater too. Well worn

Hands are correct for a 6605, most if not all came with roulette date wheels originally. The hour markers are usually refered to as "arrow" markers. The original radium "swiss" dial is in great shape as well, they're usually fairly deteriorated. If the bracelet is original it's 18kt as well.

The head doesn't look too bad, you can still see some brushing on the case and it's got nice lugs. The bracelet makes it look worse, with the bends, missing endlinks and what not. You can see the wear from his sleeves brushing against the case on the lugs a bit, but it just lets you know he enjoyed wearing it! Adds to the history imo, beats it being brand new.
