Submariner or Daytona (Yellow Gold)

Hi

I am 27 and live in the UK.

It's becoming very difficult for me to decide which Rolex to go for.

The options are

OR

Which one would you go for? These both have very similar retail price of approx £23,000 and I am aware some local jewellers in London are giving some discount on the RRP.

Are there any other models I should be looking at?

I would go for the Sub because I like it better.

For you, go for the one that you like better.

At that price point, there's plenty to choose from, and not necessarily from Rolex either.

Sub for me, but with the blue dial. The black one is nice, too but I´ll never understand why they made the font white on the new black SubCs.

Only alternative is to source a black diamond dial which has the gold font.

I'd probably go Daytona as I'm not sure about PM dive watches. However, if I were to go for the Sub, I would get one with the stunning green dial which is a super classic look.

I love the Daytona, but somehow, for a yellow gold version, I will go with the Sub as well. I think it's the bulk and the heft.

This. Between these two, the sub for sure, but the blue dial YG sub before either!

But what you want at the end of the day. It's for you, not us!

For me, the sub.

Have you considered the gold GMT Master II w/green dial? Stunning watch as well.

I'll be the contrarian and say Daytona, it's a more intriguing face and wears the YG well. I personally find the Sub in YG a very bold statement, it's a tool watch for hostile environments and i just don't see this fit, maybe the WG wins you over, which still has the essence of a hard core watch (somehow).

I would probably for for the sub out of these choices but maybe the blue one. My heart is currently set on the green dial gold gmt 2.

For a YG Sub, I only like the blue sunburst dial. For the Daytona, the one that Tom posted with champagne subdials is gorgeous!
