Forged Carbon or Ceramic Diver?

Thinking about adding a diver to the AP rotation.

Simply for the beach, swimming etc. I figure it is going to take a good beating.

Opinions on the FC vs the Carbon? I am considering the FC as I already have the 44mm Ceramic.

I love the FC 44mm... as for the diver, I'd go by which accent color u prefer, orange or yellow. Can't go wrong either way tho...

Side note, how about the White ceramic Diver?

Given your already very impressive collection of watches and your description of its intended role probably the the forged carbon since it will be cheaper (always a plus), contain a special material not currently in your collection which will also make it lighter.

I have a deposit on a ceramic diver but struggled with the choice myself. Ultimately for me it came down to the ceramic diver being more versatile with respect to outfits for work and leisure thus hopefully giving it more wrist time.

having the ceramic I would say that, it's really cool, but the FC looks great too, I do prefer the orange to the yellow though, and the see through back is cool, also it seems that the FC dial is "wet/glossy" in pics, while the CE is totally matt, and I prefer matt dials to glossy ones, that's why I prefer the new SS diver to the old one, just can't get to love that glossy look of the dial

It looks different to SS, Ti, and Ceramic for sure, but it's basically plastic with some shredded strands of CF.
As much as the rest hardly justify their asking price as far as material is concerned, FC certainly doesn't by an even greater margin.
Sorry to put a dampener on your enthusiasm, but irrespective of the price we're talking about, I like to see some semblance of intrinsic value.
If that's all too high-brow for you, and you only care about the prettiness (ignoring the pseudo technical nonsense), then buy pre-owned, letting someone else absorb the initial depreciation.

Well I prefer the ceramic for 3 reasons, the dial is totally matt whereas the FC dial is a little more "wet" or glossy, the see through back, and I prefer the orange bezel to the yellow one, but if you already have a ceramic 44mm then I would take the FC.

Apart from that the ceramic is almost scratchless, but in case of big shock it can chip, but the bezel would probably take the hit so since both have a ceramic bezel that makes it even, the FC is very light weight if what I heard is correct, but the ceramic diver is incredibly comfortable also, can't believe to what point, I got it thinking it would be more or less the comfort of a Rolex sub C, about the same weight of 140gr, but no comparison.

At the same time I say get the FC of you have 44mm in ceramic, for diversity reasons, but diversity never works for me, instead of getting a Patek 5726 on bracelet that I prefer, I got on strap having a 5712, big mistake, I didn't like it enough and flipped it, would probably still have it if had taken the bracelet model, but then wouldn't have the diver, so all ends well.

IMO you can't go wrong with either, very cool pieces

White ceramic is very nice but it's really a summer watch IMO, except if you live in a region where it's summer all year long or if you have many watches and want to have a fun watch, I wouldn't get one, but if you like 44mm in white why not the white ceramic diver? I read an article explaining that it's ultra resistant, much more than the black one, it has 1850 vickers resistance while the black has "only" 1350, doesn't say much to me but they add that it's 9 times harder than steel, this I get so the white diver could be a cool choice, saw it in real and yeah it would be a cool piece to add to a 7 or more piece collection

Normally I would say ceramic but since you already have the 44 in ceramic I would say FC.

You have some awesome pieces looking at your signature, one thing I don't get is you say you have the 44mm ceramic, but it's not in your signature, you have the 2 RG of your signature plus the 44mm ceramic? Wether yes or no it is an awesome collection, the Pateks, AP's and Rolexes are very cool ones

Well the white ceramic diver is kinda special and yes I agree it's not the most discrete piece you can buy, I also prefer more discrete pieces that hopefully will go unnoticed by the general public
