When is enough.....ENOUGH??

Hi guys,

When do we reach the point of saturation and say: Enough is enough - no more Rollies for me?

When do we reach the point of being completely contended with what we have and crave for no more?

And when do we tell ourselves: No more watches.....time to invest our hard-earned money in something more beneficial?

I wonder!!

JJ

I am not sure, but every once in a while I find my interest in acquiring new watches wanes a bit. Even so, I still like to discuss watches on the various forums.

Obviously, desire is motivated individually. For myself, I thinkI will be pretty content with:
Rolex: Datejust, Submariner, Yachtmaster, GMTIIc
Omega: Legend Chrono, Seamaster/Planet Ocean,
Dress watch from Breguet, Blancpain
Alarm watch from RGM

As soon as I reach this goal, I think I will be happy, at least for a time.

Really good question from you for once I think you have to exercise real self control. My recent spate of flipping ended with "needs must" otherwise i'm not quite sure where it would of stopped. i adore my Sub even more now because I have said NO MORE. When I look in AD's windows, I think i have on my wrist the most iconic Rolex there is, why would i want anything else, and so i move on.

But it can overtake you and cause a lot of needless stress imo, having the "I wants"

Already there. Getting kind of bored with watch flipping. I am happy with my sub and frankly I am not too crazy about Rolex anymore. I think their pricing is insane and I think there are other watches out there that are worth owning.

Having said that, I love my sub.

Well actually I would say it would end when we own every watch and every style that Rolex makes. Then we could say enough.............. until the DSSD comes out.

My answer will be when the passion for watches is gone.

When the passion is gone and I move onto something else with more enthusiasm; cameras, cars, electronics.

Then it will be time for me to say enough is enough.

There will be a time that we'll say to our selves, no more watches. We stop for a few weeks at best, and then some tosser will post pictures of beautiful watches and we'll say to ourselves, wow, gotta have it.

We then start googling and next thing you know we have a post with a subject of "Incoming!".

Right, Mark.....but will our passion for watches, especially Rolex, ever fade?

JJ,

When you figure it out let me know. I am truly happy to be a one Rolex man - however, this is about to change because of the Deep Sea

If Rolex keeps pumping out those clownmasters and leopard Daytonas, I think that'd be the day that its safe to hang up the WIS hat.

Actually, I'm very happy with just TWO Rollies - that's it......no other brand, just my beloved Platty and Subby.

I wasn't very comfortable with only Platty, but all that changed thanks to the generosity of one member here.

Now I'm so happy with my 2 babies, I plan on investing my hard-earned cash wisely and saving up.

These two should keep me going on for, hopefully, ever.

What with all the uninspiring recent Rolex releases and the sharp price hikes I think it will be ever easier to call "enough" on a new Rolex.

The old versions is where all the action will be.

My passion will never fade. My desire to have a Rolex has been strong since I was a young teenager. I've always liked watches ever since my grandfather gave me my first. A Timex. Wish I still had it. I will probably stay a one Rolex guy. At least for now.
