Somebody wanted to buy my SD :)
I was at my 3 yr old niece's birthday party, and my bro-in-law's dad is "into" Rolexes. When he first saw my Sea-Dweller summer of last year, he asked if its real. I said yes its real.
He also bought his son a TT DateJust, don't recall the ref. Fast forwarding 3 weeks ago (oxymoron) during my niece's birthday, he asked me about the Sea-Dweller again. I then continued conversing with him about Rolexes and watches that he has bought etc. He then told me that he sold the TT DateJust (his son's) and got him a GMT Master II (blue/red). I didn't have a good luck at it, but it had lug holes and it appears to be a used one since the hologram sticker looks a bit worn. They have a weird relationship where he buys his son a watch, gives it to him, and at his discretion sells it and gets another one. I think he only uses his son's home as a storage to keep it away from his wife I've also informed him that the GMT Master II has also been discontinued so he'd better keep it. I then explained to him about the Sea-Dweller and its similar to the Sub Date but has other technical features, and that it is no longer made. That afternoon, he told me that he saw my watch at an AD for $5,000 and change and he asked me if I'd sell the watch to him. I politely said no. I think that after seeing my watch at an AD, he realized that the SD did exist and he wanted to have one as par tof his collection. Anyway, I thought I'd share one of my moments involving Rolex and the Sea-Dweller. Thanks for reading.

I guess he will have a SD soon, but also a bit strange to ask you to sell yours.

Shoppy, no offence taken at all.
Its my bro-in-law and his dad that has a strange relationship. I think he only buys pre-owned. My bro-in-law = Husband of my wife's sister.

I told the son to keep his GMT Master II - I'm not sure if he's going to win that battle though.
