I am waiting for this to arrive at my AD. I have first crack at it if I want it and am leaning heavily towards getting it. Any thoughts on this piece? It's limited to 350 pieces and is 18K rose gold...............and ONLY 56K!!.........Quite a bargain.

The proceeds are going to a good cause, so kudos on that.

As for the watch, I find that the AP RO's and ROO's are quite polarizing. Some enjoy collecting the Ltd Editions, but I find them to be just slightly tweaked in terms of appearance in order to generate Ltd Editions, but without much in terms of technical horological merit.

I hear there is quite a market of LTD ROOS. They usually sell for above list.

Havent seen a pic of this one, but if its anything like the Shaq and T3 models, cant really go wrong.

Maybe you could swing a little discount, straps etc.

Ask yourself, what would one do with such an over priced, ugly watch?

Do you think it will be worth more in five years?

Sorry, I'm not a big fan of all these silly special Royal Oaks, it seems that they make a new one every week and I fail to see how any of them will ever be worth more then what you paid for one.

Do a search on ebay and see what all the other silly RO's are bringing ....I mean c'mon...a Montoya Royal Oak.

I have a buyer at 75K if I want to sell it. He said he would wire the money the day I get it. My AD said he would give me a nice discount as well, probably in the neighborhood of 10%. Now let's do the math:

56K-10% = 50,400..........75K-50,400 = 24,600

HMMMMM.......is 24,600 good enough to qualify as "worth more"?? ..........

I'm gonna have to say, this refrence is always used by me but did you ever watch the Barrett Jackson auction in USA? This goes to prove it is not only the "past value" but more what someone with with a mountain of cash to spend is willing to pay to get their hands on it. Some of those old muscle cars that sold for like no more than $15,000.00 USD max sell for hundreds of thousands restored. Even seen some near a million so there are chances of growth but see it from both ends
