Would you buy this?

I came accross this 2001 SD, thought it would be a good addition with NATO band...however when see pic I am unsure whether to pursuit or stay away.

Have anyone seen a Rolex this dirty? Watch have not been service since new.

Being dirty is not a problem, it can be clean. Post more pics and let us know how much you're paying for it, so we can tell you if you're getting a good deal or not.

Dirt is one thing, scratches and rough wear is another. Obviously there is always an exception to the rule, but I tend to think if someone doesn't care enough about cleaning the outside of their watch often, then more than likely they don't seem to really care if they repeatedly bounce it off a wall, door jam or floor.

On top of that, if they are too lazy to at least clean it up prior to taking pictures and trying to sell it...well that just speaks to my point further. Price & additional pictures are needed to make an ultimate judgment call on if this is worth pursuing.

It is really dirty from just that pic, however I'm sure Rolex can work their magic on it and bring it back to like new!

If your gonna go after that watch, the first thing I would do after buying it is to service it right away. I don't like how one of the solid ends links next to the watch head look a little loose on the left side of the picture.

I am sure a bath would bring watch back to life...however just wonder how well watch was taken care of if it is that dirty.

Seller want $4K complete with box and paper. I think it is high.

For a few hundred $'s more, you could buy a much newer, pre-owned SD that doesn't need a service and probably had a better life. After you factor in that service payment, you're at the same price point of a 2004-06 SD. Buy a newer model...I wouldn't pay $4K for this watch. Good luck.

Yup..my dad's Sub is filthy and needs a good service too. If the price is right on the SD, I say OK...good luck
