Uk: Montblanc heritage chronométrie ultra slim

Hi All

Any recommendations for where to go in the UK for the best price on one of these little Montblanc beauties?

http://www.montblanc.com/en-gb/colle...ltra-slim.html

I've managed to find one for 19.5% off so far.

Thanks gents.

Adam

Man even with a good discount I'd have a hard time buying a Montblanc brand new retail, it's an immediate hit you won't recover because their resale is so tough.

It's a nice looking piece and I like it, it's just that I would rather pay a little more for a JLC or maybe a little less for a Hamilton. JMHO

Fair point, Marc. I'm just not keen on used watches and the price is (relatively) so low to start with that I don't feel I stand to lose too much, should I ever need to part with it... not that I've any intention of ever getting rid of it.

I've wanted a JLC Master Ultra Thin for years, but this little gem is just as beautiful (in my opinion) but for a quarter of the price. Bit of a bargain, in my book

I think these are great value prop watches. I really like the one similar to this in RG.

I would personally just Google the piece and look for the cheapest price I could find from a grey dealer.

They do seem to be incredible value for money, that's for sure! I'd like both the steel and gold ones, if I'm honest. Better stick to steel for now though!

Since it's so new, they don't seem to be so readily available so I think 19.5% discount is about the best I shall be able to achieve. Not too bad at all...

Are they even out yet? I didn't see any for sale on a quick Google search.

Maybe they are in the boutiques?

They are available to buy from Montblanc's UK website, although I notice they're not available from their US one. Since they were only announced in May this year, I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised.

The dealer I've been in touch with said it'll take 15 days to arrive - presumably from his supplier elsewhere in Europe. Right now, it's all I can do to not call him and place the order...

I think your patience will be financially rewarded if you can hold off another few months until they are readily available.

But where's the fun in that??

I think if the watch cost many thousands I'd find it relatively easy to wait, but since it's not hugely expensive to start with any further discount isn't going to amount to a great deal.

Do it!

I'd love to see some live pics and get a forum member's review before I get one!

I really like the RG.

Did you get the SS or RG? Did they give you a timeframe of when to expect it?

Make sure you post up pics when you get it!

SS and I've got 15 days to wait. Could've been 6 weeks if I'd gone elsewhere!

I think I might run out of articles and pictures in the meantime :-)

Great looking piece! I'm thinking of getting a MB myself. However I'd get JLC Master Ultra Thin you want. Near identical styling for just a little more.

Damn, that's nice! Do we know if they are inhouse? I'd seriously consider one of these if I could get one under 1000.

Seems it's an ETA 7001.

Aren't they a modified ETA movement?

I'm okay with that at these price points. Sounds similar with what Tudor was doing.

Not sure how much a modify over the rota and finishing and I agree for it's price point it's not bad at all. However at a discount I have seen a watch, admittedly, not quite as dressy, a bit larger with an in house silicon escapement, that I won't name for now as If I decide I like it enough I will be posting on the forum as my new arrival soon. If I don't I will be keeping a very sharp eye on this piece

Since I'm going for the stainless steel version, Mike, the price difference is substantial (in the UK, at least) so I'm happier to give one of these a go. Plus, unless I'm mistaken, it's thinner than the Master Ultra Thin (I think).

I'll be sure to post photo's, of course.

From the various articles I've read so far, it seems to be widely regarded as an unmissable bargain. I'll share my initial thoughts as soon as it arrives.

You're quite right, from what I've read, and since I'm happy with a Tudor Ranger I'm sure I'll have no concern about the thoroughly tried and tested movement in this beauty.

this is a beautiful watch. But I agree with some comments and join more money for a JLC or IWC.
maybe I 'm prejudiced against some of the Montblanc watches.

Just had a little bad news... Delay not 2 weeks but now 2 months, apparently. Seems it's just too new to be readily available. Hmm... What to do...?

Bugger! That is a long wait. If you like the look of it that much, I'd wait it out. Is that just for the availability for your source or in general? By that I mean can you at least try it on somewhere?

Ouch, that is rough!

If you haven't put any money down, I'd stay on the list.
