I don't know the official retail price in the US, but this sounds like a lot to me. Here you could get brand new from AD for that money. The price you mention about 6% less than retail here, and you can easily negotiate such a discount.

Was just checking these pieces out while in Paris this past week. At the airport 'duty free' 6825 Euro. In the store where you can negotiate a bit more and will get the VAT back it was in the 77XX Euro range before VAT refund. I am thinking preowned should be around $7K USD. Try a trusted TRF seller in the classifieds.
