Burlington Arcade unbeleivable or what

I thought I'd take a walk through and look at some of the "offers" on display I think they have lost the plot completely they must be totally bonkers down there a few prices which defy belief only a total fool would look at these ...

Rolex 5513 maxi no band £12,000
Matte dial transitional sea dweller 16660 £18,000 !!!!
Tropical slightly GMT non chapter with crown guards £40,000 !!!
Rolex Daytona silver or black panda dial vintage £32,000 !!!
Rolex Radial GMT no band £10,000 !!!
My favourites are these two :
Paul Newman Daytona black face £250,000 !!!
Paul Newman Daytona tropical £400,000 !!!

And all the above can be had with no box papers or any history !!!
Totally, ridiculously, utterly, fully, badly overpriced.

I was there in July. Nice for window-gazing but that's about it. I noted that there were no customers in any of the stores.

Dreamers who cater for the overseas tourists. Usually Far East/Japanese interest. Out of interest a few years ago I walked in to ask what they would give me for my 'mint' '90s YG DD. £3,500 was their 'offer'!

Walking to Royal Arcade Old Bond St and you get more 'realistic' prices.

Was there a while back and remember seeing an unremarkable red 1680 for £12k, wonder what their price would be now

This is common with them and there have been multiple threads of how badly customers are treated.

Anyone in the know who appears to be knowledgeable is quickly shown the door. There prices are extortionate, I'm surprised their still open.

Lots of bad press about that shop, I wont name them but better not, they have been mentioned before on this forum.
I did look in the window but it was dusty and not inviting, they also seemed to have a 30% sale as well haha.

I would like to add that I got my SS Daytona a couple of months ago from Armour Winston in the arcade, they were so very, very helpful in there, lovely choice of watches as well.
I was served by a chap called James and he could not have been more helpful, cant praise him enough. Take a look at their website, I would certainly go straight back again if I wanted another used watch.

I've been past the David Duggan vintage Rolex shop in the BA many times. I've always thought their prices were out of line with reality. Consequently, I have never gone in to even sample their wares.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit in 2008 but those prices had me scratching my head and hiding my wallet.

The best thing similar I have seen like this in the states was outside of Philadelphia at king of Prussia mall. They wanted 12,500 for a used BLNR. They had other rolexes too that were really over priced. The best part an AD is in the mall. Just to be kinda a jerk I asked about the price compared to brand new at an AD and the sales lady said it was a limited edition. The limited edition part was no papers hahaha

When people ask are Rolexes a good investment we should show them this thread and how your Rolex will most likely at least double in value in no time!

Yes agree crazy London prices but most all every day products if buying around London center they want to charge crazy prices even for a coffee or cup of tea afraid London can be the rip off capital of the world..

The dodgy shop I was referring to was up towards the other end on the opposite side. Mentioning Vintage in their name.
My Daytona from Armour Winston was more or less spot on by price
